As I was mentioning earlier re: Martha Raddatz, there are a very small number of thoroughly predictable physical stances, facial expressions, and reportorial attitudes evinced by the journalist-simulators who populate our TV “news” programs.
What’s striking is that on Fox there’s even less. From the clothes to the body language, it’s all incredibly homogeneous and uniform. It’s like an assembly line has been created down there in the basement. Leave it to Fox to reach new depths of conformity.
It makes it very boring–on the very rare occasion that I watch a Fox segment–for me, in my by now almost reflexive parsing and analyzing choreography, movement, physical expression of all kinds.
