Gov. Sherrill has signed New Jersey up to the nuclear energy doomsday pact, reversing a fifty year moratorium on building deadly new nuclear power plants in her state (I wonder why that moratorium was enacted?)

The Democrats’ energy agenda is a lot better than the Republicans–they promote renewable green energy and they recognize the threat of global warming–but it’s still a disaster. The fact that they have allowed nuclear power lobbyists to persuade them to turn a blind eye to the dangers of the technology demonstrates their fundamental lack of judgment. They place their trust in oligarchs–like the chronically under-informed nuclear power shill Bill Gates–and lobbyists over experts. They have so degraded themselves that we watch in disbelief as Sen. Schatz tells us that nuclear power is “cheap.” This about the most expensive energy technology that produces waste that must be guarded from the public for thousands of years.

Now, Gov. Sherrill has capitulated to this fatal idiocy and she hasn’t been honest about what’s gone down. This law was rushed through the NJ legislature. She has appointed a paid nuclear power lobbyist to her Nuclear Task Force. A complete betrayal of the public interest, public health, public trust. Gov. Sherrill is compromised.

If the public were informed about the risks of nuclear power they would overwhelming turn against it. The corporate media, however, sees to it that they are kept a state of perpetual ignorance–as much by what they don’t cover as by what they do.

Beyond Nuclear, however, gives us the facts.

Most of the corporate media is. They have shunned Lee and her heroic “Duty to Warn”brethren who have been informing the public for the past decade about Trump’s psychological disfigurement and the danger it poses to humanity’s continued existence.

The corrupt American Psychiatric Association went after Dr. Lee when they saw her work as a threat to continued funding by the Trump Association. The corporate media immediately fell into line, dropping Bandy like a hot potato even though the book she edited, “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” became a best seller.

“Day after day, we are told that the American people only care about rising prices, jobs and the economy. They occasionally sprinkle in suggestions that the public is worried about healthcare and the situation in the Middle East. But a full-throated discussion of the threat Trump poses to democracy itself is largely off the table.

“This failure is particularly striking because it is unique to the United States. Legacy media has no similar difficulty covering democratic backsliding in Hungary, Poland or Turkey.

“When citizens in those countries protest the erosion of judicial independence or the concentration of executive power, the media coverage is clear and direct. Yet, when it takes place in our own backyard, it immediately becomes a story about ‘partisan disagreement’ or ‘differing views on executive power.'”

They’re basically doing exactly what they did in 2023-24, when they got Trump reelected.

Remember when Obama and Rep. Clyburn interfered in the 2020 Democratic primaries to clear the field for Biden? We all saw how that turned out.

The Democratic establishment is out of touch with what its voters want, as well as what independents want. Recent polling shows that independents favor a progressive agenda, debunking the establishment’s argument that the platform must be diluted to bathwater in order to attract the non-aligned.

The establishment has treated our elections as a spoils system in which they get to dispense patronage. That has to stop.

Even the international investment community for whom these gargantuan towers were built has resisted them.

Steinway Tower on West 57th Street is called New York’s “loneliest” tower by “MegaBuilds” in a video posted on Youtube. Btw, it was allowed by the Landmarks “Preservation” Commission to largely appropriate the 1925 landmark-designated Steinway Hall. And naturally enough, since no one in municipal governance really seems to really care much about art, culture, or tradition, Steinway’s hallowed music and art studios were demolished.

Steinway Tower as well as all of Billionaire’s Row is an exercise in futility as well as civic destruction and monumental folly.
