Presidents Clinton, Obama, and Biden had a bully pulpit to explain to an ignorant, rapidly radicalized right-wing population where their tax dollars go and what our government does for them–and it does more for them in red states than it does for the blue states which fund the red ones. Instead, the presidents chose not to engage.  It now falls to our current crop of Democrats to explain to the American public how Trump is undercutting them with his attacks on every institution in our government.
