As any number of commentators have noted, Trump’s lying is getting more and more reckless, hyperbolic, and shameless. We didn’t think it was possible. But being the target of so much of it, Biden simply cannot continue to ignore it. Does he really think that America, a country in the grip of mass psychosis, can tell lie from truth anymore, just on its own?

Trump’s ever-widening gyre of depravity must be condemned by the Democrats. The Republicans’ abandonment of decency and patriotism should be a major campaign issue in the midterms.

That won’t happen, of course, because Trump only gives interviews to suck-up outlets like Fox “News” whose hosts sit there poker faced as Trump launches into monologues that are lies from one end to the other.

It’s clear, however, that if any politician tries to enact any policy that benefits Americans who aren’t wealthy, Republicans will scream “Communism” or “Socialism.” That is how perverse their values are, and that is so pernicious is their degradation of the English language.

Now he’s promoting a dangerous new type of nuclear reactor. The public is once again being gulled by Gates, and scientists are coming forward to denounce his blinkered obstinancy. All nuclear energy is dirty and toxic, producing poisonous waste that stays deadly for thousands of years. But Gates’ new reactor prototype is potentially even more dangerous than earlier models.

Why dos Gates refuse to acknowledge that he future is renewable energy? Probably because it is resistant to the kind of corporate monopolization that has been his stock-in-trade. The fact that this arch-oligarch has been able to rehabilitate his tattered reputation at the cost of international public policy is a stark illustration of the humanity-as-ship-of-fools sentiment and calculus.
