Only Donald dTrump could have ever imagined that a protracted exposure to his inability to answer questions would do wonders in giving his image a presidential gloss.

Has there ever been anything in this country’s history more comically feckless than the President’s council to reopen the economy, make sure everybody gets sick, and crash the economy into a zillion tinkling pieces just in time for the election.

Remember, in addition to everything else, Trump is monumentally stupid.

Trump’s tweets aretaking an increasingly grandiose tone, as he proclaims “let it be fully understood” that he has sole, sovereign authority to decide when states reopen.

As always, he is lying and violating his oath of office.

The GOP-controlled Congress have tried to wreck the USPS with a preposterously onerous demand for decades of future pension funding–as if the oil companies that get so much US subsidy had anything like that in place.

Now, by refusing to save the postal service as it goes into free fall, they will not only accomplish a long-standing goal but succeed in sabotaging mail-in voting, thus ensuring, so they hope, a Trump victory in November.

The Republicans are committed to destroying all public institutions in this country except the military. They can only produce societal destruction.

“He has no ability to understand anything that is not an immediate tactile or visual experience,” Tom Nichols writes in The Atlantic, “no sense of continuity with other human beings, and no imperatives more important than soothing the barrage of signals emanating from his constantly panicked and confused autonomic system.”

While he was ensuring that he was getting tested for COVID-19–not once, but twice–Mulvaney was insisting to the CPAC audience in February that concern about the virus was simply a Democratic plot to take Trump down.

Haven’t seen a word, yet, in the corporate “mainstream” media about the calamitous effect coronavirus is having/will continue to have on our performing arts institutions, virtually all of which were in fragile financial shape before the pandemic.

Haven’t seen anything in the independent media either, which shows how deculturized all of our media have become.

His extreme sect of Catholicism apparently places no store on honesty or morality, as proved once again by Barr’s poisonous lies to Laura “Sig Heil” Ingraham.

He is advocating that people ingest a drug that has proven side effects but no proven efficacy in dealing with coronavirus.

And he is advocating a return to public assembly-as-usual that will cause the death rate to skyrocket.

And he dares to rail against “secularism.”

He is a fellow Trumpian sociopath.
