He’ll be lucky to stay out of jail.
Even the Koch billions couldn’t get this edifice of lies and lawlessness installed in the Senate.

Agency France Presses quotes Professor Joh Mueller:
Soleimani’s killing “‘will unify people on the side of the mullahs’ just when their theocratic, deeply anti-US regime is increasingly unpopular.”
is a severely deluded extremist whose megalomania allows him to believe that God is blessing his every disastrous statecraft bêtise.
Isn’t it interesting that Pompeo’s religious beliefs in no way deter him from transactional criminality?
Together with fellow religious hypocrite Mike Pence, it was Pompeo who goaded our moronic president into initiating war with Iran.
Heaven help us, indeed.
remind you of.the waxworks scene in Sunset Boulevard and the Nazi ball in The Boys From Brazil?
As AOC tweets about Trump’s threat to obliterate Iraq’s cultural heritage,
“It should also go without saying that sites like Persepolis (& its PEOPLE) are not only treasures to Iranians, they are gifts to humanity.
“They tell humanity’s story – that is why authoritarians target them. They want to erase history.”
That’s what De Blasio’s developer chums are doing to NYC–destoying the living history that is our urban topography.
The morally bankrupt Trump administration never takes any responsibility for any action they take, and so now they are, true to form, trying to blame Obama for their catastrophic actions in Iran.
Obama’s inability to rebut his actual enemies is explained in Obama on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President, by Dr. Justin Frank.
Therefore–
While I’m reading lots of great tweets by Bernie, AOC, Sen. Murphy, et.al. excoriating Trump for turning the U.S. into a pariah nation, I need to see more firepower rebutting White House, Inc.’s pathetic attempt to finger Obama.
Trump’s cathexis about destroying everything that Obama did led him to blow up the Iran accord and everything that has happened since could have been predicted.
Even if Congress was not.
Dean Baker tweets: “very interesting that Lockheed’s stock went up 2.0 percent on Thursday, the day before the attack. Looks like a lot of people should go to jail”
They allowed the Republicans to strip out during reconciliation on the gargantuan “defense” bill amendments that would have imposed some restrictions on the way that Trump squandered this money.
Once again, they deferred to the GOP, with the results that we’re now seeing.
Trump’s apocalyptic hands could have been tied–they weren’t.
What does he get out of his relentless advocacy for mayhem?
He’s highly dangerous, as demonstrated once again by his obscene gloating via tweet about the possibility of regime change in Iran. He has no idea what he’s doing, no concept of reality that could acknowledge the catastrophic results accrued internationally by us implementing Bolton’s doctrine over the past fifteen years.
“Loose cannon” doesn’t begin.
Matt Duss tweets a response to Bolton:
“One of the key delusions of DC’s hawkish psychopaths, helpfully illustrated here, is that military action is ‘decisive’ in a way that other foreign policy tools are not. But assassinating Solemani didn’t just end something, it began something else.”
These people’s track record of lies and catastrophically bad policy should have put them in outer media darkness by now but the corporate media is determined to incarnate them as voices of credibility and expertise.
Julia Conley writes at Common Dreams:
“Some of the top architects of the Iraq War took to the corporate media to spin a narrative aimed at retroactively convincing Americans that the killing of Iranian military official Qasem Soleimani was essential to the safety of the U.S.—a replica of the run-up to the Iraq War nearly two decades ago.”
