SCOTT PRUITT OPPOSES BRAIN GROWTH

Well, you could say that Trump and all his Cabinet represent a horribly stunted form of psychological and ethical development, but Scott Pruitt is mounting a full-frontal attack on organic development as well.

After meeting with the Dow CEO, EPA head as well as foe Pruitt retarded an EPA ban on a Dow pesticide that has been shown to slow the growth of children’s brains.

The Associated Press’s Michael Biesecker has the story.

Don’t buy Dow products!!

BEN SASSE GROVELS AT THE COURT OF THE KOCHS

Sasse is an up-and-coming monster, a monster to watch out for.  He was there at the Koch retreat last week. Was Sen. Sasse preaching his gospel of self-reliance to the American oligarchs gathered, one of the greediest, most infantile, cossetted classes in the history of human civilization?

REMEMBER THAT TRUMPCARE TARGETS MEDICARE AS WELL

It’s the first step toward destroying not only Medicaid, but Medicare, the other program that for more than fifty years has kept seniors alive.

At Common Dreams, Nancy Altman and Linda Benesh explain the way that Paul Ryan may finally make his sociopathic wet dream come true.

WATCH THIS SPACE–OR THAT ONE

I will be starting to offer on Amazon “E-shorts,” long-form profiles of people in the arts (not taken from email interviews!) as well as all sorts of other monographs.

I have the first one ready, now I need to figure out how this thing works.

But I think it’s perfect for a lot of my topics.

EVIL HARRIDAN KELLYANNE CONWAY

This parasite, this six-figure-salary-receiving goldbricker, has the unmitigated gall to attack Medicaid recipients, most of whom work, for not grifting the public in a high-paying sinecureship with Cadillac health insurance–the way she does.

BRINGING IT ON THEMSELVES?

You know, you sometimes have to sit back and reflect that the dire condition American  non-profit cultural and performing arts institutions are in is a direct result of bad, not good, incredibly stupid policy making by corporate types who know nothing about the art forms that they are administering/publicizing.

The idea that corporate people know how to run non-profit arts institutions is as daft as the idea that government should be run like a business.

IT’S THE MOTHER OF ALL HEALTH-CARE RATIONING

Courtesy the GOP Senate and House.

And don’t forget those lifetime caps the health insurance rationers will be able to impose, thanks to the Republicans. That means you, too, employee receiving employer-based insurance.

A public option could have headed off so many of Obamacare’s problems, the ones that GOP sabotage has exacerbated, but President Obama caved.

AT LEAST GET YOUR ASS TO THE PHONE

Gia Kourlas’s interview in The New York Times with Diana Vishneva on the occasion of her retirement from American Ballet Theatre doesn’t have that canned feel you get from email interviews.

The article says that the interview was conducted in Vishneva’s dressing room.

Email interviews are the antithesis of journalism, a sign that Celebrity Interview Subjects have reached a new low of disdain for journalism.

I’ve done one email interview in my life. It was actually OK, scripted, of course, but the subject was very articulate. But personally I will not do any more. I told that to a star’s PA recently. At least on the phone–some actual human dialogue.

HILLARY CLINTON IS RIGHT

Yes, the GOP is the party of death if it passes this horrific health care assault.

But you know what?

It is anyway.

It has now reached a point of apocalyptic extremity.
