NBC SUCKS UP TO TRUMP; TRIUMP VOWS TO DESTROY IT

When will the corporate “mainstream” media understand that they are in his rifle sights? They can platform him up the wazoo,  grant him every condition he asks for, let him ride roughshod over their reporters–and they will still be on the firing line should their genuflections ultimately result in his reelection.

MEHDI HASAN DOES WHAT THE BIDEN CAMPAIGN SHOULD BE DOING

He’s put together a mash-up of Trump’s verbal gaffes, synaptic short circuits, and imbecilic pronouncements, about bleach and such like, which Trump and his team are so desperate to minimize by shifting attention to Biden’s–at worse–mild cognitive decline.

When is the Biden communication team going to take the gloves off? Do they realize what’s at stake?

TRUMP STRUGGLES FOR SPEECH & THE “MAINSTREAM” MEDIA FOCUSES ON BIDEN’S COGNITION

In those selfie videos he keeps disgorging, Trump huffs and puffs like a dilapidated bellows, as he wrestles with the words he is trying to articulate.

CITY HALL’S LATEST ATTEMPT TO SCAM NYC

Administration in, administration out, City Hall exists to make the developers happy, and is willing to practice any deceit in order to do so.

City Hall told us it was going to build “affordable” housing at 388 Hudson Street. Turned out these units will revert back to market rate after 30 years. And turns out the building specs it provided were a complete sham –the City just sprung its real intention to  solicit proposals from developers to construct the tallest building in Greenwich Village!

Another monstrous betrayal by City Hall, and the developer-dominated  NY City “Planning” Commission.

Visit Village Preservation’s web site and you’ll find out how to raise your voice in protest.

WE NEED LESS CELEBRITY COVERAGE, NOT MORE

Unbelievably, in a time of ever-shrinking newsroom personnel, USA Today has decided that Beyoncé and Taylor Swift with each be covered by a dedicated reporter.

A[pparently, USA Today believes its obligation to deliver an even more ignorant, celebrity-obsessed citizenship trumps, as it were, what might once have been considered its sacred mandate to inform the public and serve the public interest.

TRUMP’S LATEST AVOWAL OF NAZIISM

His spasms of anti-Semitism are occurring at shorter and shorter intervals.

Now he accuses Jews of betraying America. And the corporate media stays largely silent about his remarks.  The GOP stays completely silent.

It’s chilling to watch for the first time Polanski’s “The Pianist” and realize that some version of this horror is what Trump and his confederacy of depraved degenerates have in mind for America.

If America survives Trump and the current GOP, some type of Truth and Reconciliation must follow.

CORPORATE MEDIA’S BETISES (OR WORSE) MAY RE-INSTALL TRUMP

The Meet the Press interview was a disaster for NBC, for America, and–fortunately for the continued existence of this country–for Trump’s legal defense as well.

The corporate media is treating Trump as if he’s running again as a newbie, as if it’s always Groundhog Day in Trumplandia.

THE WHITE HOUSE NEEDS TO CALL OUT TRUMP’S LIES AND DEFAMATION

on a daily basis. Their response so far has been so lackadaisical that’s almost as if they want to be Swift Boated.

TALLULAH PODCAST

Last week, Dan Schneider interviewed me for a podcast on Tallulah. My fellow guests were two generation- Z women: Julia Schnarr, an undergrad who’s made a student film about her and wants to make a feature one, and Carrie Chappell, who’s written a book of poems riffing on TB.  They reminded me how relevant figures from the past always remain.  It was interesting to hear everyone’s take on TB: the podcast lasts two hours but could have easily gone overtime. We all learned a lot!

ANNOTATION

Grandma Sallie [a/k/a Sarah, born Zoli], who claimed she’d gotten virtually zero parenting lodged in close tenement quarters with many other siblings and two hard-working parents, doted on my father.  And yet she felt compelled to remind him that her own resentment had never/would never go away–if she was giving him what she’d never received, it was purely discretionary on her part, and could be pulled out right from under him at any moment. Love and parenting as mixed message.
