IN GOOD CONSCIENCE

How can the electors possibly install Trump?

His inflammatory, categorical denials about Russian interference tell us all we need to know about how he was “elected,” as much as do the assault on the recounts.

And the people around Trump himself, his appointees, likely as well as actual, are even worse than he.

Bolton’s deranged claims about the Obama administration are a preview of the psych-ops that Trump and his cabal are going to launch against the American people.

Now McConnell’s joined the conspiracy to cover up Trump and his cabinet’s ties to Russia. Just the way he jawboned Obama last summer to keep it under wraps.

SHOULD BE AN INTERESTING CHAT

On January 16, I’ll be interviewing Mimi Paul and Edward Villella for the Balanchine Foundation, after they rehearse their old roles in Balanchine’s Bugaku with New York City Ballet’s Maria Kowroski and Jared Angle.

Bugaku was created in 1963 for Allegra Kent and Villella; second cast was Paul and Arthur Mitchell. But in London, Paul and Villella were paired in it during NYCB’s 1965 visit. And they had a tremendous success. Two great dancers and each highly original.

So to prepare, I went to the Library for the Performing Arts and watched Paul and Mitchell run through their roles for a practice-clothes video record in 1964, and I also saw three minutes of Mimi dancing it at Ravinia with NYCB in 1963. Oooh.

FASHION SHOULD BE FREEING

It’s all gotten so excessive.

I mean, honies, what type of message do you think you’re sending about yourself when everything is new and everything is some type of fashion statement?

Where do you fit in?

Be free, be confident.

As Tallulah’s friend, actor Glenn Anders recalled,

“I saw her so many times get out of the tub, climb into a slip, run a comb through her hair, smear with the lipstick, into the dress and out the door.”

THE FREAK SHOW

Josh Marshall writes at TalkingPointsMemo:

“Trump’s administration ends up being made up of plutocrats, right wing extremists and generals. Basically, exactly what you should have expected, unless you were stupid.”

Not a populist, not a genuine man or woman of-the-people among them.

HARRY REID’S STRONG FINISH

Liberated from having to toe Obama’s line, he denounces to Joy-Anne Reid the seditious James Comey:

“I think he should be investigated by the Senate. He should be investigated by other agencies of the government including the security agencies because if ever there was a matter of security it’s this … I don’t think any of us understood how partisan Comey was.”

ONCE AGAIN, SANDERS CALLS IT

Trump is indeed, as  Sanders just told Chris Hayes “a pathological liar.”

[I love Hayes’s tweet last night: “I honestly, I have no idea what’s happening and everything is totally insane. Good night!”]

Why didn’t/hasn’t Hillary said this about Trump? Why hasn’t Obama?  How does Al Gore feel about being played for a fool by Trump?  Where’s Hillary’s vaunted toughness when it comes to standing up to the theft of her own election?

And we could have had–but for the machinations of the Democratic National Committee–a Sanders presidency!!

Btw, I’ve heard nothing more pathetic from the Democratic establishment than David Brock blaming the millennials for Hillary’s loss.

Would that be, Mr. Brock, those very same millennials whom Hilary belittled and insulted on the campaign trail?

HOW MUCH DAMAGE HAS OBAMA DONE

to America as well as the Democratic Party by his failure to act decisively and thus presidentialy by facing down the Republicans as they became ever more extreme?

Obama leaves in his wake a chain of cowering reaching to the horizon.

Regarding the news that Moscow considered Trump the perfect useful idiot and worked overtime to get him his–now more than ever–compromised from the get-go, precarious perch  (considered by Trump to be a throne),

Simon Tisdall in The Guardian writes:

“Obama’s role in this developing scandal is also coming under scrutiny. Members of Congress and White House officials told the Washington Post that Obama was worried that if he went public with evidence of Russian meddling during the election, he would be accused of using national intelligence resources to boost Clinton’s chances.”

Oh, my. . . the GOP might have accused him of something. . .

This was after years of being pushed around by them.  This was in the wake of their stealing a Supreme Court justice.

Obama had learned nothing.

NBC ADVERTISERS MUST BE BOYCOTTED

If the network is OK about being complicit with Trump in making a mockery of American democracy and obliterating ground rules about avoiding Presidential conflicts of interest.

What is it Donald–do you need the extra money?

HAVE YOU NOTICED HOW OLD (AS WELL AS WHITE)–

— Trump’s Cabinet of Horrors is? I feel positively nubile by comparison.

But their age wouldn’t matter if their ideologies and mental capacities were not far older  than their chronological years. They cling to stunted, warped, reactionary views that are far behind such evolution as we as a nation and a species have made. Hell, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions seems to be living in around 1859!

TRUMP IS AMERICA’S ENDGAME

(and the entire world’s as well.) Unless he and his equally fanatical, stupid, ignorant climate-change deniers are stopped.

Now, they are poised to purge the Environmental Protection Agency of reality-acknowledging climate advocates.

Democrats: go to the American pubic. Tell them what Trump and the GOP are doing to their future.
