The idea that these titans of unimaginable wealth are so obsessed with making more money and making more money only, that they would bow and scrape to Trump shows us that this country’s veneration of wealth has legitimized a class of moral mutations that are not worthy of the term “leader” in any way, shape, or form. Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musck and the rest are not only amoral and seditious; they’re insane megalomaniacs happy to bring down this country if they can make a few more billions. The corporate media has lionized these people to the point where they now threaten the country’s survival.
ABC News violated cardinal requirements for journalism: to report reality and tell truth to power. Judge Kaplan said that Trump raped E. Jean Carroll. Period. ABC reported that accurately. Then they caved to Trump who huffed and puffed and had no legal case at all. When George Stephanopoulos learned that ABC didn’t have his back or the truth’s, he should have resigned.
You think they’d go to a dentist who’d never used a drill, or leave their car in the shop with a mechanic who didn’t know how to drive? No way.
But when it comes to protecting public health, sustaining human life, ensuring a future for our species, they want ignorance and denial.
An illegal immigrant, lied about his residency status, upended democracy by buying an election, has committed innumerable business frauds, now wants to destroy America and rob working Americans of every bit of benefit to which they are entitled and have paid for.
And a clown–is there anything in public life more ludicrous than the sight of Musk and his Tweedledum Vivek prancing around the halls of Congress?
is exemplified by craven, cowering ABC News, which rather than submit Trump to the deposition he was ordered to sit for, groveled and is paying him $15,000,000 plus issuing an apology because George Stephanopolous called Trump a convicted rapist (which the Judge Lewis Kaplan said he is.)
Of course Trump or a surrogate made threats to ABC brass.
As Tom Joseph points out, the MAGAs now celebrating that Trump should be termed instead “guilty of sexual assault” are delusional.
The corporate media largely ignored the negative ramifications of this bill, accepting City Hall’s branding that it was about building affordable housing. (If you want to know why The New York Times reports on zoning and land-use issues the way it does, look at who makes up their Executive Board–and make a point to look at who’s on all the other Executive Boards.) The term “affordable housing” has been so abused that it means absolutely nothing at this point.
The Queens Eagle tried to provide some balance, quoting Council Member Bob Holden: “It’s really egregious that we’re turning over many of the decisions to developers, so most of our accomplishments will be totally eliminated. City of Yes is a developer’s dream and a neighborhood’s nightmare.”
100 story buildings were already permitted under the city’s previous zoning restrictions; now 150-story buildings will be permitted.
Btw, if the city really wanted to address the housing crisis, it would prevente landlords from warehousing rent-regulated apartment units.

Wray was appointed as FBI head for a ten year term. Democrats respect that these appointmennts should be non political. By his craven acquiescen to the whims of Herr Trump, Wray is paving the waqy for the destruction of the FBI and of law and order in this country via Truimp’s installation of mayhem enthuiast Kash Patel–who plans to end the Bureau’s counter-terrorism efforts.
