It’s possible that Obama’s unprincipled and more-than-a-little deranged avidity to bargain away the programs that he was re-elected to protect (on reflection, when Plouffe talks, we know who’s really talking) could destroy what remains of Pelosi and Reid’s reputation (remember these two were both willing to flog the calamitous back-room deal that Obama hashed out with Boehner in the summer of 2011).
Now she’s on NPR talking about the “tough choices” that Democrats have to make. And you know what that means in the cuckoo world of the Beltway.
Obama apparently couldn’t care less whether he takes the Party leaders down with him. And they apparently can’t wait to go there. If they had any real integrity they would have told Obama No way a long time ago.
