SO TRUE

I’ve just started Samuel Stein’s Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State. He defines the term in the Introduction: “a political formation in which real estate capital has an inordinate influence over the shape of our cities, the parameters of our politics and the lives we lead.”

On that note I direct you to the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation’s web site, to read about the “Trojan horse of Affordable Housing,” and to sign up for the first public (over Zoom) hearing about the totally peremptory, autocratic, scammy Soho upzoning the Mayor is demanding.

You think there are too many inappropriately-sized towers there now?
Just you wait.
