Astonishing the degree to which Garland’s DOJ is hell bent on protecting the criminality of the Barr/Trump criminal manege. Now the DOJ is even attempting to get thrown out of court the case against them for gassing peaceful protesters last summer, proposing the absurd argument that it is not likely to happen again.
Of course, it will happen again the next time there is a GOP administration. Each time right-wing extremists evade accountability, they become emboldened. It’s the look-forward-not-back trap that Obama championed so disastrously.

“I never thought the DOJ would do anything at all to pursue what went on in the Barr regime. These ‘institutionalists’ always think the best way to restore their credibility is to sweep the past under the rug and just do a good job going forward. And that always ends up just normalizing the pathological behavior of the Republican Party.”
