The epiphany by Republicans that the president assured us would manifest once Trump was out of office has failed to materialize. Instead they are worse than ever, engaged in lockstep obstruction in complete subservience to the fiendish Mitch McConnell.
Yes, as Biden just noted, the Republicans do know better about voting rights, but that does not mean for one second that they intend to reform.
Biden seems in complete denial. He also seems like a compliant mouthpiece for McConnell’s own hooey about the alleged danger of filibuster reform. McConnell has now brought two Democratic presidents to heel.
As Biden’s legislative agenda slips beyond reach or retrieval due to the GOP’s abuse of the filibuster, one can only wonder if complete cognitive dissonance will take over.
