In an act of unsurpassed municipal hubris, the mayor has announced that since one of his developer chums wants to build yet another tower at 14th Street and and Ninth Avenue, an entire row of 1840s designated landmark houses must be demolished, due to alleged structural infirmity.
City Hall is, of course, refusing to produce any actual documentation about the structural integrity of these designated landmarks.
