BILLIONARIES ARE NOT THE ONES WHO ARE SELF MADE

It’s revolting to hear the self-serving prattle of a spoiled little rich boy turned oligarch like Musk, and think of my mother’s father, who worked in the rubber factory as a kid and eventually earned a Ph.d in Biology from Harvard. When they met at Oberlin, his idea of a date, my grandmother would recall, was taking her to keep him company while he painted lines on the tennis court, one of many jobs he took to survive while attending school full time.
