I mean, really, the Republicans on the Supreme Court are just trashing the institution in every possible way. Gorsuch won’t even fake basic civility anymore. His petulant, adolescent refusal to mask up, thus forcing Sotomayer to stay at home, is yet another demonstration that it is hopeless for Democrats, in any government institution whatsoever, to try to be conciliatory and appease the GOP.
