Sunday night was really a staggering moment demonstrating once again, how far this country has fallen–and our entertainment industry with it.
Why were all the stars going over to comfort Will Smith, whereas Chris Rock was simply left to nurse his bruises as suavely as he could? Yes, Smith was out of control and dangerous, but Rock had just been walloped. As Jim Carrey–one of the very few A-list stars to call out the debacle for what it was–later remarked, it was indeed sickening that Smith then received a standing ovation.
Atrocious behavior rewarded.
Violent aggressors treated as victims.
Familial abuse enacted on an industry-wide scale.
