We just came close to losing much of Europe when Ukraine’s nuclear plants were attacked by Russian forces. Yet the always-feckless Kerry has turned his post as special climate envoy into a shill for the utility companies. They want the government to rescue their investment in regressive, expensive, inefficient and hideously dangerous nuclear power plants.
Nuclear power could end humanity even faster than global warming.
Now the Department of Energy is saying it wants to convert ancient col plants into new nuclear plants.
WHAT? And where is the media on this?
Beyond Nuclear calls it out:
“Energy leadership in this country is either blind and deaf to the reality of the climate emergency, or completely captured by the powerful energy lobbies of yesterday. Mired in outdated thinking, they cling to failed and foolish energy plans that have long been supplanted by demonstrably better, faster, cheaper, safer and more workable options, ergo renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation.”
The White House is all in with Kerry’s piracy, as Kamala Harris glibly cheerleads the sale of three new nuclear plants to Poland.
To add insult to injury, Kerry is now embracing an oil executive to preside over the next U.N. “Climate Summit”–aka trade fair for nuclear and other deadly technologies.
