IN NYC, THE PUBLIC INTEREST IS ALWAYS THE LAST CONSIDERATION

First, the City keeps the Tony Dapalito recreation center closed for four years without any significant repair work, depriving New Yorkers from all over the city of an essential resource. Now it says it must be demolished because the cost of repairs is too high.

As usual with any information released by City Hall regarding land use–Bullshit.

As Andrew Berman notes at VillagePrservation.org, “The city just okayed a vastly larger sum for restoration of a  recreation center in Bronxville  than what they say Tony Dapolito would need. “
