They are so blinded by greed and megalomania that they become judgment-impaired even when it concerns their own financial interests. It apparently never occurred to Ackman that Trump would go through with his tariff threats.
But Ackman has been going off the deep end for a long time.
He wanted Jamie Dimon to run for president. He then became a Trump hophead. He told us that Trump would be “the most pro-American president and we’ve ever had.” Up until the tariffs, he thought that Trump and the U.S. were “making huge economic progress,” which means he approves of Musk laying waste to our government.
Ackman could not be more selfish and myopic if he tried. Plus there’s his echt-oligarch obsession with suing everyone who writes anything he doesn’t like.
Why is Ackman platformed? Why do Americans, as those wonderful take-no-prisioners women at IHIP keep reminding us, believe that anyone who is rich is particularly wise, moral, or intelligent? America keeps learning the hard way and then having to re-learn because we don’t seem to be able to retain what we’ve learned from experience.
