Governor Cuomo sounds an alarm: the groundwater under Indian Point is extremely radioactive. The ancient, dilapidated nuclear power plant is owned by Entergy, which has a terrible safety record, and of course it has issued its boilerplate denial: the crisis “does not pose an immediate threat to public health.” This is the same company that sued the state of Vermont for the right to continue to operate anothes deteriorating plant.
And Indian Point is the same nuclear power plant that Spectra Energy plans to run a gas pipeline by!!
