Locust in human form Tom Price blows smoke when asked about how the House ACA “replacement” will cost Americans coverage, and Joan McCarter at Daily Kos is concerned, as we all should be, that he’s allowed to get away with it.
Dr. Price, one of the many Trump cabinet members who committed perjury in his or her confirmation hearing–I’m glad that Paul Krugman mentioned this–could not give a flying fuck about honesty nor could he about making sure Americans have health insurance. This is a man who doesn’t even believe in employer-based health insurance.
A press corps that lets him perform diversionary maneuvers like this is functioning so shoddily that fodder for Trump’s demagogic attacks starts to stockpile.
Needless to say, when Price claimed that the House bill would not increase the deficit, he was lying. Like Trump and all of his accomplices, Price lies constantly.
As McCarter notes: “Never mind that the huge tax cuts in the bill would dramatically reduce revenues, and that all the gains made in Medicare financing would be lost, and exhaust the Medicare Trust fund by 2024. Which would be expensive, to say the least.”
