That’s the reality we must accept if Gorsuch is seated. McConnell and the GOP stole the vacancy in a brazen and unprecedented attack on U.S. democracy. Gorsuch’s conduct during the farcically simulated “confirmation hearings” embody an equivalent contempt for the Democrats, a contempt for judicial process, a contempt for democracy that tells us, as if we didn’t know already, what type of injustice he will be.
At that point, we’re in uncharted territory, thanks once more to GOP extremism.
