THE PRESSES ARE STOPPING

Ross Barkan in the Guardian: “Journalism today is dying because no one has really figured out how to financially support it in a winner-take-all capitalist system.”

Barkan cites shocking statistics about the attrition in news reporters. I mean, when news has been downsized this way, are we surprised that arts writing is running on fumes?
