Last week I called Rep. Gutierrez’s office to thank him for his denunciation of General Kelly’s betrayal of the Dreamers. The staffer said how much she appreciated my call “after the onslaught of hate calls we’ve gotten.” This, of course, is a hallmark of Fascism: the belief that the military is infallible, that it is an unpatriotic act ever to question the honesty, integrity, accuracy of a military official.
And so here we are: Trump’s selection of incompetent freaks to run our government has allowed the generals to look reassuring by comparison.
That is a big, big mistake.
