AlterNet is one of many independent news sites and aggregators that is suffering because as it states in an editorial, “Google and Facebook—which are not media companies, do not have editors or fact-checkers, and do no investigative reporting—are deciding what people should read, based on a failure to understand how media and journalism function.”
In the name of rooting out fake news, they are stomping on real news.
Truly, these gigantic companies are like lumbering, untethered Big Foots.
