When Comey swung the election to Trump, Trump all but sent Comey flowers and chocolates.
Now Majority Leader McConnell, too, is mouthing the Trump party line, implicating himself as conspirator in Trump’s insistence that he is above the law and that the Mueller investigation must end.
Bill Clinton decided that the Democrats would no longer function as an opposition party, which meant they really were no longer a political party at all, since all politics is oppositioal.
And so over the past twenty-five years they acted as if they went to sleep at night fretting that they might have hurt a Republican’s feelings that day.
And they played defense, and tagged along and adopted GOP positions and accepted GOP framing, and abandoned Democratic constituencies and made GOP priorities happen and hardly ever dared to advance an agenda of their own. Since they never fought back they let the Republicans keep working the refs and whining that the system was biased against them even as if they bowed the system to their will.
For their pains, the Dems ultimately were all but wiped off the electoral map.
And Hillary Clinton saw her shot at he presidency slip out of her grasp because James Comey, petrified that the GOP might unleash their attack dogs, grabbed the mike to announce another dead end in the Clinton wars was being explored while never even mentioning that Trump’ s campaign was under investigation.
And so Clinton can thank her husband and his New Democratic trailblazers for ultimately road blocking her trip back to the White House.
That thing the Toll Bros. put up on 22nd Street just West of Park Avenue South is sufficient predicate for the instant dismissal of every member of the City “Planning” Commission.
We need mass arrests of the GOP who supported him in traitorous obstruction of justice, and truth and reconciliation proceedings for the electoral cult that was ready to support him over the cliff.
Trump may not read much, but he certainly did peruse those Hitler texts he kept on the night table.
Now it’s prison camps for migrant children.
And Pelosi and Schumer continue to collaborate on an election platform that will partly validate what Trump and his GOP are doing to us.
