Love the title, so I’ll just keep it aloft by itself for a day.

Studying body language, that is.
And doesn’t Trump resemble a primate howling and pounding its chest?
And back in the realm of our own species, the screaming and gesturing and hyperventilating really demonstrate close observance of the Fuhrer.
That same sitting POTUS who wanted to propitiate mad dog Republicans by cutting Social Security?
Now he’s calling, as well he should have been seven years ago, for it to be expanded.
He seems to be creating a boomlet of reinterest in Herman Melville’s The Confidence Man. I’ve wanted to read it for years. I mean, how great is Moby Dick, Bartleby the Scrivener, and Billy Budd? A country that could produce Melville, Hawthorne, and James has every right to call itself literate.
I went to nypl.org to put Confidence Man on hold–and three of the four copies were checked out!
Rob Briscoe’s documentary on the Bankhead family premieres June 9 in Jasper, Alabama, which was their home town for a long time. Once it’s dark out–or once darkness descends, I should say in tribute to the family’s gift for florid rhetoric and oratory–it will be screened at the outdoor amphitheater at the Bankhead House and Heritage Center, built originally by Congressman Will Bankhead and his second wife Florence.
As the narrator in the new trailer announces: “A once-famous name obscured by time–who were the Bankheads?”
Marco Rubio is paid a six-figure salary to goldbrick his way through an absentee Senate term, serving only as a human coin box for billionaires and their agendas.
Why not keep the gig rolling?
Bully Trump is a coward as well as a fraud.
No, he won’t face the certainty of Sanders cleaning his clock.
She seems not to have learned a thing since her health care fiasco two decades ago.
Make yourself as unavailable to the media as possible–
Refusing to debate Sanders, she hands him and Trump a pinata.
You go, girl!
That’s what an academic friend of mind and his colleagues branded Bush’s bogus act when it first was imposed on us. Fifteen years later, the result, of course, is exactly what they predicted: kids who know how to check boxes rather than articulate anything or exercise critical thinking.
There will be sufficient time in the months and years ahead to examine the crack up of the liberal commentariat precipitated by Bernie Sanders and his candidacy. In the meantime, it continues to peddle the canard that Sanders has not yet been subject to attack while Hillary has been “vetted.”
Just what was all the redbaiting done by Claire McCaskill and other Clinton surrogate sluggers, one might ask.
Adam Johnson examines this at Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting. (Could any rubric be more diametric to the “mainstream” “news” media?)
Johnson writes that “The problem is this Beltway dogma is based entirely on rhetorical sleight-of-hand, conventional wisdom and unfalsifiableĀ assumptions.”
So what else is new?
In the meantime, it’s interesting to see that even Harry Reid has begun to understand how dangerous is the (non-existent, of course) defamation of Sanders by the Democratic establishment (clean-house time).
