I don’t know how anyone can possibly think that Dimon’s world review has any value sufficient to justify the credence that mainstream news gives him. Dimon is concerned with one thing: his own short-term enrichment.

Instead of just quoting him verbatim, news anchors should qualify what he says. He extolls deregulation; deregulation of any kind means more harm to the health and well being of American workers. Tax “reform” as he so blithely touts  it, means that the wealthy will pay even lower than the historically low effective rates they now pay, thus continuing the massive underfunding of human needs in this country and the inequality that has fueled our descent into fascism. Dimon supported Trump, so he should not be balking at any of the economic mayhem that’s now going on. Instead, he might thank himself.

Dimon has got a big mouth and a high opinion of his own pronouncements. That doesn’t mean that the rest of us should.

Steven Banks headed Paul, Weiss’s pro bono division, which following Chair Brad Kamp’s surrender to Trump will probably be defending Neo-Nazis and other domestic terrorists. Kamp pledged to contribute $40 million in legal services to any client mandated by Trump.
