WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO EZRA KLEIN?

So Kirk was “practicing politics the right way?” Klein thinks so, or so he tells us in The New York Times. By provoking hatred and violence? By racist, misogynist, anti-Semitic and homophobic smears? By taking an active role in funding and disseminating Trump’s Big Lie? And by personally profiting from it all?

So Klein wants the left to emulate Kirk’s alleged “moxie and fearlessness”?

Too much proximity to the oligarchs spinning the “Abundance” hoax seems to be making Klein a patsy. Recently, a reviewer, whose name escapes me, wondered if Klein was simply being naive when he fell for the real estate developers’ jeremiads about zoning restraints and regulation. I don’t know, but again, there was nothing admirable about Kirk. The encomiums published about him, most definitely including Klein’s, are deplorable, and it is too bad that Klein isn’t brave enough to step away from the tidal wave of disinformation. He makes a very dangerous false equivalency between the left objecting to Klein’s views at the same time it extends condolences, and the right’s demand that all liberal thought and expression be silenced.

Klein knows that neither the Times or any other corporate outlet has very much tolerance for truly progressive thought or opinion and he has seemingly curated his editorial stance to suit, falling in line with the way the big, rich boys want to frame things.
