The fact that Trump perversely boasts about them as if they were a positive achievement is part of his Orwellian rhetorical jitsu, which the Democrats have refused to counter effectively. I say “refused” because no political party could remain as passive and inept as the Democrats have unless that was a deliberate choice. I’ve asked again and again, why do the Democrats enact regulations but then fail to explain and defend them to the American people? Why don’t they make explicit how harmful to Americans is Trump’s deregulation?
