WEST VILLAGE BECOMES NO MAN’S LAND

A long-time family friend who’s lived in the East Village almost fifty years made one of her now-rare forays West– and vows never again.

She recalls Bleecker nd West Fourth Streets when they were lined with personalized store windows and independent businesses.

Now it’s a ghost town over there.
