RYAN’S PLOY TO DESTROY MEDICARE

as well as Medicaid, is analyzed by Joan McCarter at Daily Kos.

POLITICS OF CATASTROPHIC DISTRACTION

Will North Korea be target of the first new war started by Bannon/Trump?

We see Tillerson, of course, in all his fakeness; he is completely unqualified to be anything but slugging arm for Bannon/Trump’s global belligerence.

TRUMP HATES HISTORY, LIKE MOST FASCISTS

History, like any other form of reality, is an encumbrance for Trump, as for all Fascists. Their interest in history is usually confined to extrapolating a few nationalistic narrative lines that can be touted to justify aggression against purported enemies within or without.

Therefore, in Trumplandia, the National Endowment for the Humanities is a nuisance and must go.

Drew Gilpin Faust in The New York Time shines a light on some of the amazing projects funded by the NEH. These projects expand our knowledge, our perspective, our perception–everything that Trump and his Fascists don’t want U.S. citizens to do.

BANNON’S SLIMEY LITTLE PAWS ARE EVERYWHERE

Including on the Ryan “health care” bill.

Alleged populist Bannon is getting in bed with the most extreme “Freedom Caucus” right-wing fanatics.

Politico’s got the story, and it’s by three authors: Rachael Bade, Tara Palmeri, and Kyle Cheney. Multiple authorship is a practice that all our press outlets should use to prevent individual reporters from getting bamboozled by right-wing talking points, as so often happens today.

GLENN KESSLER BETTER FACT-CHECK HIMSELF

on this one. Kessler is right, the coal miner and the single mom in Detroit  are paying the cost of one candy bar per annum in tax contribution to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

But Kessler in The Washington Post goes haywire from there.

“The biggest part of the federal budget is entitlement programs — especially Social Security and Medicare — but President Trump has pledged to leave those untouched. That’s where the real money is, whereas programs like the CPB are a relative pittance.”

Last time, I looked, Social Security was paid for by employees and employers.

Last time I looked, both Social Security and Medicare’s budgets were smaller than the military’s.

Last time I looked, Paul Ryan was starting to unravel Medicare in the new “health care replacement” bill by raiding its trust fund, and Trump was on board with that.

ONE MIGHT ADD

that the entire intention of this shameful budget that the shameless Mulvaney is flogging is to destroy the lives of the coal miner in West Virginia as well as the inner-city resident of Detroit.

Cutting the miniscule bit of money thrown at the arts in prior administrations is imply another way for White House, Inc. to complete their assault on the rural and urban poor.

Man, is it all of a piece.

White House, Inc. wants the country impoverished in body and mind.

MULVANEY’S “INSANE CLOWN LOGIC”

Annieli at Daily Kos double-takes at the obscenity of unspeakably stupid, callous, and dishonest Mulvaney telling a reporter that funding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting comes at the expense of impoverished coal miners or struggling Detroiters.

Trump has gone to the bottom of the barrel.

Defunding the arts won’t put a penny more into aid for the needy. It will only contribute to making us a nation of Mulvaneys.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR MULVANEY

The stream of bullshit he’ s spitting out to try and justify the “morally obscene”–once more, thank you Senator Sanders for telling the truth–Trump budget is almost unprecedented in my experience.

Except, perhaps, for what Tom Price is saying.

And except, perhaps, for what the rest of Trump’s regime says on a daily basis.

And except, come to think of it, for everything that Trump has been saying for years.

I’VE BEEN MEANING TO ASK

Now we know from the Trump budget what Bannon’ s “economic nationalism” means:

the complete annihilation of the American worker.

THE “ADMINISTRATIVE STATE” BANNON WANTS TO DESTROY

is actually the United States, the institutions that allow our country to survive.

In the fever bog that is Bannon’s thought processes, these have become the enemy.

Bannon is treasonous and he is insane.
