The Democrats just lost an election because, in part, Democrats failed to show up at the polls, so deep is their disgust with the party’s Emanuel-stamped economic neo-liberalism.

At Common Dreams,  comedian, author, and podcaster Kate Willett’s tweet is quoted: “If I had to pick one individual who set the stage for what seems like it may be decades of Trumpism, it’s Rahm Emanuel. Imagine if Obama had saved peoples’ homes in 2008 and put the bankers in jail? Truly fixed healthcare? Rahm worked diligently to make sure that didn’t happen.”

A friend flagged this article to me: “Harris Had a Wall Street-Approved Economic Pitch. It Fell Flat,” by  By Nicholas Nehemas and Andrew Duehren.

“While Democrats were defeated, populist, progressive economic policies did well at the ballot box.”

The stupid, stupid corporate Democrats–almost as foolish, formulaic and blinkered as the Wall Street freebooters.

Completely in sterling character for the meddling oligarchs, Cuban “declined to comment when asked this week to weigh in on Ms. Harris’s economic messaging. ” “No interest in talking politics at all,” Mr. Cuban wrote in an email.  You now what, though, the rest of us might have an interest in how you delivered this country into Trump’s tiny, slug-like, and very maliscious hands.

The political and corporate media  hype is nonsense.

No matter how many Democrats have now bought into the scam, the reality is that nuclear power is incredibly expensive, incredibly inefficient, incredibly dangerous. It will doom humanity much faster than global warming. All if takes are a few accidents or terrorist attacks.

The fact that people want to listen to the energy prescriptios of an under informed crank like Bill Gates shows how sick our society is. Nuclear power can make it sicker.

Anyone, including air head Gates, who wants a nuclear revival should be forced to relocate to within one mile of a nuclear power plant.

Reagan stood up and told Americans living in an (imperfect) democacy that self-government was their enemy. That has been weaponized by the GOP since then until we now are at a point where the GOP electorate is nothing more than a death cult in thrall to a dictator, turning their fury against every government institution that sustains and supports American life

Trump’s appointing RFK, Jr., is just one more sign of his hatred of our country. No amount of mayhem will be enough for him. He will not be satisfied with anything less than the complete annihilation of this country. He is defecating on America, and we can’t count on the GOP, now reduced to the death cult of a dictator, to do anything meaningful to stop him.

This is what your ignorance and irrationality have done, MAGA. To the  Democrats who didn’t think it was worth their while to show up and vote, your refusal to participate in democracy now may mean that we lose it forever.

As Lawrence O’Donnell said recently, America doesn’t send its best to Wall Street; it sends its greediest. Trump crashed the economy, while Biden’s presidency made these people wealthier than they’ve ever been before. And yet they voted to bring Trump back. Now, Trump has already begun to tank the economy, and yet it took the appointment of Gaetz for these top-tier ditzes to realize what a danger Trump poses.

That’s according to Wall Street whisperer Andrew Ross Sorkin, who sees his journalistic mandate to put as little daylight as possible between himself and the people on whom he reports.

You can’t make up the insanity that Trump and Trumpism have unleashed on/in America.

Truimp will try to eliminate Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security; SS may be self-funded, something the right-wing never mentions when they try to destroy the program, but MAGA’s Medicaid and Medicare aare paid for us who live in the wealthier blue states and contribute much more to the federal budget than we receive. 

But the Democrats must finally accept that doing the right thing is not enough; they must market and message their achievements to America’s incredibly ignorant Republican populations.
